365 people Pictures: Day 33--An Unexpected Baby Lover

This is a favorite photo of our 14-year-old son, Alexander, and our granddaughter, Brielle, taken last week when we vacationed in Ohio.

We adopted Alexander from Russia when he was eleven. Until our daughter, Anna, and her husband, Aaron, had their daughter a year ago, Alexander hadn't had the opportunity to be around babies. And, boy, is he good with his niece! Of all the people in our large family, Alexander gets the quickest smile out of the one-year-old. She simply adores him, and the feeling is mutual. If God hadn't placed Alexander in a family, he never would have had nieces or nephews because he had no siblings in Russia. Now he has eleven, and that bodes of many, many nieces and nephews to love on as time goes by! God is so kind!

365 People Pictures: Day 32--Brielle Opening Birthday Gifts

Tonight Brielle opened the gifts celebrating her first birthday. Soon she was surrounded by tissue paper which brought out the pink in her fair complexion. We thank God for Brielle Madelyn! What a gift she has been even in her first 12 months!

365 People Pictures: Day 29--Love Captured

This is not a posed picture.

I was just blessed last weekend to capture a special moment between our daughter, Lissie, and her grandma when we visited my mother-in-law in Kansas last week. The two didn't even know I had my camera turned on them. Rather, they were engrossed in the beauty of being together, which was especially sweet after the nine months Lissie had just finished living in Central Asia. Oh the joy of having the opportunity to catch a photographic representation of the strong, enduring bond between these two! I love people photography!
